Filip
In 2015 Filip came to IDEO to help them simplify the design and manufacturing of their innovative phone and tracking wristband for kids. Basically it is a smartphone that can be attached to a wrist. The original design was manufactured in too many complicated steps, leading to an imperfect appearance of the entire surfaces. At IDEO we redesigned the device, improved and simplified the surfaces, but still kept the overall iconic look of Filip. In addition we simplified the manufacturing process and we developed a closure system to provide secure fit to the arm. This product was launched in 2016.
