KT Tape

In Fall 2015 we worked on a portfolio extension for KT Tape. The company had gained recognition through their highly visible Kinesiology tapes that are prominently used by athletes around the world. KT Tape came to IDEO to look for ways to extend their offering in a meaningful way. Two product directions emerged from this exploration. Both fall under the sub-brand Recovery+. One product line is a heat/cold therapy system that can be attached to almost any part on the body. KT Recovery+™ Ice/Heat Compression Therapy System’s adjustable design provides ice/heat therapy to a wide variety of targeted body areas. Unlike other ice/heat therapy products on the market, KT Recovery+™ Ice/Heat Compression Therapy System is portable and allows for increased mobility and easier use before, during, or after physical activity.
The second product line is the Recovery Patch. KT TAPE’s Recovery Patches utilize edema taping to lift the skin and allow lymphatic fluids to flow for faster healing. Recovery Patches are a safe and comfortable way to reduce swelling and inflammation. Simply apply the Recovery Patch over the swollen area and it quickly begins working to increase lymphatic drainage. IDEO developed the product, brand, communication, packaging, and its unique application process.
